Comparing Stakeholders’ Economic Values for the Institution of Payments for Ecosystem Services in Protected Areas

In order to maintain the provision of high-quality ecosystem services in wetlands, it is important protect ecosystems through designation protected areas. However, process designating areas can potentially give rise social conflicts or problems by acquisition private lands. As an alternative, institution payments for (PES) be a more viable solution. This study intends propose reasonable contract standards PES that consider preferences both beneficiaries and providers, which are necessary successful introduction wetland protection Korea. doing so, we employed choice experiments estimate willingness pay (WTP) accept (WTA) different stakeholders. Our findings indicate providers had positive perception terms. Moreover, WTP WTA values were comparable, suggesting unit price could determined within range.
